Based on the results of the Census and Asset Inventory (CAI), TAP will calculate compensation amounts and present them to affected land owners and users.
Land access agreements will be formalised in a contract with TAP. Great care will be taken to propose the fairest and best possible solution to all land owners and users affected by the project.
All agreements will be signed before construction begins with all payments for land access having been settled. Compensation for impacts on plants and crops or other livelihood activities will be paid on occurrence of the impact.
TAP will seek to reach negotiated settlements with affected land owners and land users wherever possible. TAP will use compulsory easement or/and expropriation only if attempts at reaching an agreement fail, in accordance with national expropriation laws.
