TAP will begin, starting from July 3, a series of surveys in the local area, with the aim to collect the data about the residents, needed to update the ESIA documentation, as the Italian legislation and international requirements, and to complete the feasibility studies on the project. The surveys were approved through a Decree of the Prefecture of Lecce, dated June 7th, and published in the Bulletin of Melendugno City Council.

With regard to the compensation for the damage to fishing nets paid to one of the fishermen of the Cooperative Il Delfino, TAP wishes to state that the request for compensation was received by the company March 29, 2013, directly from the fisherman concerned and not through the Cooperative to which he belongs.

As per the recent articles published by newspapers today, TAP wants to point out that the area which will host the Pipeline Receiving Terminal, based on the new project that will be included in the documents for the EIA with the deadline of September, is less than 12 hectares and the area in which the building of the PRT will stay is 3500 square meters, that is a lot less in size, than 1 hectare.

Already on last February, the Monti government started the process, but the political crisis and the end of the legislature stopped it. The adoption of the text, less than a month since the new Executive was born, represents for TAP the confirmation and the continuity of the Italian support to the project.

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has yesterday announced that the Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) fort the Albanian section of the pipeline that will transport natural gas from Azerbaijan to Italy, through Greece and Albania, has been approved. The review process has taken into account all the possible environmental, cultural or socio-economic issues related to the pipeline and has also seen the participation of local stakeholders in three public hearings, in order to identify possible protection measures during and after construction. The granting of the Permit proves the validity of the project and the company's commitment towards the environment and local communities and takes the project a step closer to completion.

On 28th March, 2013 the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project submitted a comprehensive transportation bid (known as the Decision Support Package or DSP) to the Shah Deniz consortium (The Consortium).
