Upgrade of Komotini Hospital Paediatric Clinic

TAP cares about vulnerable groups, such as the children hospitalised at the Sismanogleio Hospital in Komotini. TAP covered the renovation costs of the hospital’s Paediatric Clinic and donated medical equipment, as well as children’s beds, chairs, sofas, libraries, cupboards, kitchen appliances, etc. The Paediatric Clinic is now a beautiful, children-friendly place and staff working conditions have improved. The donation was implemented in cooperation with the Network of Social Solidarity (NSS).

TAP promptly responded to a request by the hospital's management. The Paediatric Clinic renovation started mid-2017 and was completed in four months, while four jobs were created in the process.

The hospital’s request, as well as the donation, was warmly supported by the Komotini Municipality, as the clinic’s ward hospitalises and treats children aged 0 to 16, from the entire Regional Unit of Rodopi.

The hospital’s management and medical staff welcomed the renovation. The Paediatric Clinic was inaugurated in February 2018, in the presence of the Chief of the Komotini General Hospital "Sismanogleio," Dr. Georgios Filippidis; its Medical Director, Dr. Konstantinos Mavromatidis; the Director of the Paediatric Clinic, Dr. Eleni Karanikolaou; as well as Nikos Sotirakopoulos, Komotini’s Deputy Mayor for Social Issues and Solidarity.
