Our management team

Luca joined TAP as Managing Director in June 2017. Luca has over 25 years of experience in the development and management of pipelines, plant construction, and the operation and maintenance of gas transmission and distribution companies in Italy and Europe. Throughout his career, Luca has held several executive management roles, including Chief Executive Officer of Italgas. His most recent positions were Chief Industrial Assets Officer of Snam, as well as Managing Director at Snam Rete Gas S.p.A. Luca has a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan.

Jonathan joined TAP as Human Resources Director in January 2016. Jonathan previously worked for BG Group where he held the position of Human Resources Director for Europe, Central Asia and Africa Middle East and Asia Regions, as well as Human Resources responsibility for Global Finance. Prior to this, Jonathan held a number of senior strategic and operational human resources positions across diverse sectors and industries, including financial services, hospitality, retail, media and energy. Jonathan has over 25 years of experience as a human resources professional. He holds a Business Studies Honours degree and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. 

Pierluca was appointed ICT Director in January 2018. Pierluca previously worked for Snam, where he held the position of Chief Information Officer. His previous senior management positions include Head of Application Area for Snam SpA, Head of ICT Demand & Delivery Refining & Marketing for Eni S.p.A, Head of ICT Application Services for Eni S.p.A. and Head of ICT Business Unit Gas & Utilities for EniData SpA. Pierluca has more than 25 years of experience in the ICT sector, overseeing IT management systems for operations and commercial activities, as well as providing business support in the gas industry. Pierluca has a degree in Information Sciences from the University of Milan. 

Tony was appointed TAP’s Finance Director in January 2021. A senior finance professional, he has worked in the oil & gas sector for 33 years in various management roles, including as CFO. Tony spent 27 years at BG plc, holding a number of finance leadership positions in Russia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Italy, Central Europe and South East Asia. Since 2014 he worked as Head of Finance for Ophir Energy plc, managing all corporate and operational finance activities for the group. Tony is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) and holds a business degree from Leicester University.

Ricardo joined TAP as Operations Director in September 2017. Ricardo has almost 20 years of experience in the management, development and implementation of operational strategies, working for various Enagás facilities throughout his career. Ricardo joined TAP from Compañia Operadora de Gas del Amazonas in Peru, where he was Chief Operations Officer. Ricardo also worked as Asset Manager for the LNG Terminal Altamira in Mexico, Process Operator at the Huelva LNG Terminal and held various managerial positions at the LNG Terminal in Barcelona. Ricardo was a University Professor at the University of Huelva.

Marija, our Head of Commercial, joined TAP in 2009. She has a background in engineering, with extensive project management and consulting experience in the field of natural gas. Prior to joining TAP, Marija worked as Director of the Department for Studies and Planning at the Danish consulting company Ramboll Oil & Gas. Marija holds a Postgraduate degree from the Technical University of Denmark and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from La Salle University. 

Vugar was appointed TAP's Head of External Affairs in September 2018. Vugar is an experienced non-technical risk management professional and has held several managerial positions in the oil and gas industry. His earlier experience includes work as Permitting Manager for Nord Stream AG in Zug, Head of Media & NGO Relations for Agip KCO in Kazakhstan, and Executive Advisor to BP's Business Unit Leaders. Vugar holds an MBA from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and a BA Honours from the Azerbaijani University of Foreign Languages.
