2019 Market test
The 2019 Market Test has ended and no binding bids have been submitted. Interested parties are encouraged to follow the 2021 Market Test process, which was launched on 12 July 2021. You can find all relevant information here.
Market tests are held at least every two years following the operation of TAP. TAP initiated a market test process in 2019 to assess market interest. It was structured in two phases:
- non-binding phase
- binding phase.
2019 Market Test

phase one – non-binding
On 1 July 2019, TAP invited stakeholders and interested parties to participate in the non-binding phase of the market test, by requesting specific documentation in a structured timeframe. Links to this information, as well as the capacity allocation mechanism network code, and the incremental capacity procedures at Snam Rete Gas and DESFA, are available below.
After the demand assessment phase closed in October 2019, TAP produced a Demand Assessment Report, which is also available below.
On 20 January 2020 TAP, SRG and DESFA opened a public consultation on the draft project proposal, in accordance with the provisions of Article 27 of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/459 (CAM Network Code), and adhering to the guidelines for TAP’s 2019 market test. phase two – binding
The binding phase of TAP’s 2019 Market Test started on 17 May 2021, with the opening of a two-month information phase, followed by the opening of the binding bidding phase, on 17 July 2021. The binding phase is managed in close coordination with Snam Rete Gas and DESFA.
