TAP Network Code Revisions
As part of our commitment to transparency, TAP publishes the TAP Network Code revisions and updates.
TAP Network Code Revision (July – September 2025)
The TAP Network Code (TNC) was initially published on 10 August 2020, with subsequent amendments coming into effect on 12 April 2022, 1 April 2023 and 2 January 2025.
In 2025, TAP developed a further revision of the TNC, enabling more than one physical entry points to TAP, including an amended fuel gas allocation methodology and implementing a shipper registration portal. A Revision Proposal contemplating these changes was published by TAP for public consultation lasting 30 days and closing on 14 April 2025. The three NRAs have jointly approved the amendments to the TAP Network Code (ratification can be found at this link: https://www.arera.it/fileadmin/allegati/docs/25/317-2025-R-gas-ANNEX_A.pdf).
This Revision Proposal introduces a set of further amendments to the aforementioned April 2025 version of the TNC, which therefore is the base document against which these amendments are shown.
The focus of this Revision is, within TAP’s specific regulatory framework, to define the cost pass-through allocation mechanism for costs related to:
i. Compression Electricity; and
ii. compliance with the Methane Emission Regulation (MER) (and any replacement or similar law applicable to TAP in relation to the reduction of methane emissions).
The proposed amendments, the supporting rationale and an estimated timeframe for implementation of the amendments are summarised in the Revision Proposal.
In accordance with Section 22 of the TAP Network Code, TAP is conducting a public consultation on the Revision Proposal from 30 July until 15 September 2025.
Stakeholders who wish to participate in the public consultation are invited to submit their comments by sending the Response Template published below to TAP by 15 September 2025 23:59 CET at the email address public.consultation@tap-ag.com.
