Land and local residents
The Trans Adriatic Pipeline is identified by above ground pipeline markers. These poles provide critical information to the general public, as well as to emergency responders.
Yellow marker posts (photo) are used to alert the presence of TAP pipeline route and include information such as the name of the company operating the pipeline, geographic location and a phone number that should be called in the event of an emergency.
If you are planning to do work near or in the vicinity of the pipeline, please contact TAP.
The TAP markers are installed all along the pipeline route:
- With a maximum spacing of 1 km in open farmland, so that when standing near one post, the next one is visible.
- At all major and special crossings (roads, railways, etc.) with a marker on both sides of the crossing.
- At locations, where the pipeline crosses forest roads and other sensitive areas.
Public awareness
TAP is committed to ensuring that a comprehensive communication programme is in place for residents near the pipeline route to prevent any incident.
TAP uses public awareness initiatives to inform local communities and authorities, as well as companies and individuals working close to the pipeline, about potential hazards and the steps that should be taken for public safety near the pipeline.
We are collaborating with local stakeholders towards the shared goal of safe, reliable and environmentally responsible operations.
