Commercial dispatching
The commercial dispatching procedures cover nominations, renominations, trade notifications, matching, balancing and allocation.
Nominations
Shippers are required to submit separate nominations for forward capacity and commercial reverse capacity.
Nominations for forward capacity should be sent separately for each entry and exit point for which a shipper has reserved capacity.
Nominations for commercial reverse capacity are made as equal nominated quantities at the entry and exit point combination for each commercial reverse route.
Each nomination must contain the:
- specific entry or exit point in the TAP transportation system (or entry and exit point in the case of commercial reverse routes)
- shipper's account code
- counterparty shipper’s account code
- gas day for which the nomination applies
- quantity of natural gas to be transported.
Subject to agreement with the adjacent transmission system operators (TSOs), TAP will offer single-sided nominations at the respective interconnection points.
Trade notifications
TAP facilitates trading of natural gas at the virtual trading point (VTP) between shippers holding forward capacity products, according to Section 8 of the TAP Network Code.
TAP’s procedure for nominations, renominations and trade notifications
Nominations and trade notifications may be submitted a year in advance of a specific gas day, but no later than 13.00 UTC (wintertime) or 12.00 UTC (daylight saving) on the day before the transport is due to take place.
If a shipper does not submit a valid nomination for an interconnection point or a valid trade notification for a particular gas day by the nomination deadline, the shipper's nominated quantities at that interconnection point and/or traded quantities will be deemed to be zero.

Matching and renominations
After the nomination deadline, TAP and each adjacent TSO initiate the matching process. The matching process is concluded with the calculation of confirmed quantities for each shipper at the relevant interconnection points and the virtual trading point.
TAP will send a confirmed quantity notice to the shippers no later than 15.00 UTC (wintertime) or 14.00 UTC (daylight saving) on the day before transport.
After the deadline for the confirmation of the initial nomination for that gas day, TAP will run hourly renomination cycles allowing shippers to submit renominations and updated trade notifications. At the end of each renomination cycle, TAP and adjacent TSOs rerun the matching process.
Nomination, matching and renomination procedures are described in Sections 8 and 9 of the TAP Network Code.

Balancing and allocation
As part of the matching process, TAP actively balances shippers’ positions and ensures that the sum of the entry and exit quantities of each shipper is balanced, taking into account nominations, renominations and trade notifications.
TAP has agreed to put in place an operational balancing agreement (OBA) with each adjacent TSO as of the start of operations. Each shipper's allocated quantities at an interconnection point will be equal to its confirmed quantities so that shippers are not expected to face imbalance charges – unless the OBA between TAP and adjacent TSOs is suspended according to the terms and conditions of the interconnection agreements between TAP and the adjacent TSOs. In case of suspension of the OBA, TAP will apply a proportional allocation rule.
TAP will calculate transmission imbalances according to Section 10 of the TAP Network Code and will publish the relevant imbalance prices used to settle imbalances on a daily basis.
The procedure which defines the reference price, used for setting the relevant imbalance prices, can be found here.
The Neutrality Arrangement’s information with regard to the costs, frequency and quantity of the balancing actions, as well as the revenue generated to balance the system can be found on Transparency data page.

How can shippers access their data?
TAP shippers can submit nominations, renominations and visualise and download relevant information such as allocated quantities and invoices on the private Electronic Data Platform (EDP).
