The Trans Adriatic Pipeline operates a natural gas transportation infrastructure from the Greek border with Türkiye to Southern Italy, enabling interested parties to market gas to several European countries.
TAP granted status of “National Importance” in Albania
This clears the way for the drafting of the National Sectorial Plan for the TAP Project. The drafting of this document will be led by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy. Upon obtaining this status, the 500 meter wide corridor of the TAP project is declared a “national area”.

Trans Adriatic Pipeline Launches Market Test
TAP launched a market test to allow natural gas shippers to express interest, and in a later phase, secure access to new, long-term capacity in TAP, thereby enabling the future expansion of the pipeline capacity. The market test will be conducted in two main phases: a non-binding phase, starting on 1 July 2019, followed by a binding phase, expected to start earliest in the second quarter of 2020.
