ESIA Albania - Amendment 3 (in English)
The third Amendment to TAP’s ESIA in Albania describes six changes in the project compared to the 2013 status (ESIA approval and Environmental Permit issue date).
The changes include four re-routings, a new access road (AR 405-1) and a micro-tunnel near Corovoda. The four re-routings (Polene, Verzhezha, Mbrakull and mine concession L1437) as well as the Corovoda micro-tunnel are located in the Skrapar and Polican regions, while AR 405-1 is located in the Berat area.
All changes are designed to have minimum impact on the environment and the communities along TAP’s route in Albania.
ESIA surveys and related reports prepared by an independent environmental expert confirm that the changes are fully in compliance with the effective Albanian environmental legislation and industry best practice. According to the evaluation of the independent environmental expert, the changes do not cause additional environmental and social impact compared to the initial ESIA Report.
During March-May 2016, the National Agency of Environment reviewed and approved the ESIA Amendment no.3.
