Reconstruction of the "Llukë Mita" School in Ura Vajgurore

The "Llukë Mita" elementary school is located in the village of Konizbalta, in the municipality of Ura Vajgurore. The school facilities also serve as a kindergarten. However, the building had deteriorated and became unsuitable for teaching. TAP decided to include this facility in its SEI programme. The brand-new building now provides optimal study conditions for 70 students and 30 children.

€633,000 investment

Experts evaluated the old building and concluded it was too deteriorated to be restored. TAP therefore decided to demolish the existing building and build a brand new one as well as special playground areas for the kindergarten children.

There are now two buildings on the school premises, with separate entries and yards. The kindergarten building has one floor and 105m2 area, and the school is a two-floor building with 908m2. Thanks to the increased capacity of the facilities, the number of children can increase to 100.

The new facilities have 12 classrooms (2 for kindergarten kids), 2 laboratories, one library, one gym as well as toilets for boys, girls and teachers. Materials of the highest standards have been used for the floors, external and internal walls and restrooms. New furniture has also been provided.

Special importance was paid to the new electrical and water supply systems. External thermal insulation has been installed on all facades. TAP has also implemented relevant safety standards, fitting a fire extinguishing system and an emergency staircase.

The construction for the “Llukë Mita” school in Konisbalta started in April 2018 and was commissioned and handed over to the municipality of Ura Vajgurore in November 2018. The school was inaugurated in December 2018 at a ceremony attended by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Blendi Klosi, the Mayor of Ura Vajgurore, Juliana Memaj as well as TAP representatives.  

The construction works were carried by a joint venture comprised of Beis & and Albanian company Pienvis Shpk. The project created approximately 120 jobs.
