DESTINATION, SAFETY - Utility Vehicles for Northern Greece
In June 2017, TAP Greece launched a €14 million Social and Environmental Investment project*, pertaining to the donation of 104 utility vehicles – including ambulances, multi-purpose vehicles and garbage trucks. The investment benefits local communities across all three Northern Greek regions traversed by the pipeline: Western Macedonia, Central Macedonia and Eastern Macedonia-Thrace.

The utility vehicles comprise of 104 vehicles. More specifically, the vehicles that have been delivered so far are the following:
- 32 ambulances and 1 bariatric ambulance,
- 17 garbage trucks,
- 19 4x4 trucks for forestry and civil protection activities,
- 15 snowploughs,
- 20 unique purpose vehicles.
The DESTINATION. SAFETY project focuses on improving quality of life, as well as environmental management, for local communities.
The project was designed in close collaboration with the Hellenic Government, as well as regional and municipal authorities, to serve the needs of local communities in Northern Greece – providing better healthcare, environmental management, cleaning, and safety services for residents.
The initiative was officially launched during a press conference held in Thessaloniki and attended by all three Heads of the Northern Greek Prefectures, who thanked TAP on behalf of the communities benefiting from the initiative. The event also marked the first public broadcast of TAP’s campaign for the launch of this specific initiative, with the tagline "TAP. A pipeline of good energy."
*While TAP initially allocated €9 million for this programme, the amount was increased to €14 million, so as to cover additional features and the instalment of latest technologies in selected vehicles.
