TAP supports Greek Health, Emergency and Rescue Services
Health and safety are core priorities for TAP, while we are also committed to contributing to the improvement of the livelihoods and quality of life for the communities along the pipeline route. For that purpose, we are closely collaborating with the Greek Health, Emergency and Rescue Services, before even the beginning of construction for the pipeline in Greece. And we are actively supporting the activities of these services, via TAP’s Social and Environmental Investments programme.
€1.5 million to healthcare services in Greece, Albania and Italy to assist their efforts against COVID-19
TAP AG offered a total of 1.5 million euros to support healthcare services in Greece, Albania and Italy, i.e. €500.000 to each host country, in their efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the same time, in collaboration with its contractors in Greece Bonatti και J&P Avax, TAP donated two isoboxes to communities in Northern Greece. Isoboxes are pre-constructed containers that were used by TAP’s contractors during the construction of the pipeline and then offered to the municipalities of Kastoria and Argos Orestiko, to be utilised as auxiliary medical facilities. The purpose of this initiative was to support the efforts of local healthcare services in addressing the increased needs in their areas of jurisdiction, due to COVID-19.
Upgrade of the Paediatric Clinic of the "Sismanogleio" Hospital in Komotini
TAP cares about vulnerable groups, such as the children hospitalised at the "Sismanogleio" Hospital in Komotini. TAP covered the renovation costs of the hospital’s Paediatric Clinic and donated medical as well as hospitality equipment. The Paediatric Clinic is now a beautiful, children-friendly place and staff working conditions have improved. The donation was implemented in cooperation with the Network of Social Solidarity (NSS).
