TAP has engaged a number of companies as contractors to help in the development and construction of the pipeline. These contractors work closely with specialist local and international companies, involving them as subcontractors for specific areas of work. The list below is indicative only and will be updated regularly as the project develops.
Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd. (HFCL) is TAP’s contractor for the supply and delivery of approximately 1,550 kilometres fibre optic cable. Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd. India, a trusted end-to-end telecom infrastructure provider, offers its solutions to various telecom operators, Internet Service Providers (IPSs), infrastructure companies, energy and oil & gas sector worldwide. HFCL is one of the largest manufacturers of optical fibre cables with a strong customer base in more than 30 countries.
ABKons is one of Albania’s leading financial and legal service providers, and has been advising TAP on matters related to its activities in Albania since 2009. It supported TAP on scoping, public disclosure and public consultation on the TAP Albania ESIA report. Currently, it conducts traffic surveys on access roads impacted by the project, supply and demand side analysis and the study of compensation values. ABKons is also currently working on Land Easement and Acquisition to secure right of way in Albania.
In February 2017, ABKons has been commissioned by TAP to provide Project Management Services for the implementation of Social and Environment Investment (SEI) construction projects. ABKons is therefore collecting information on companies that wish to be considered and collaborate in implementing such projects.
Corinth Pipeworks S.A. has been contracted in November 2015 for the supply of approximately 495km of 48” diameter line pipes for the project section across Greece. Corinth Pipeworks S.A. is a global supplier of high-quality steel pipes for the energy and construction markets. Based in Greece, Corinth Pipeworks Group of companies has subsidiaries in Greece, USA, Russia, Cyprus and Poland and a representative network of agencies worldwide. Its Thisvi plant is located in Viotia, Greece and its annual production capacity amounts to 1,000,000 tonnes, approximately.
ENY has been contracted for providing legal services related to TAP’s Land Easement and Acquisition process in Greece, aiming to secure permanent or temporary land access and property rights along the whole pipeline corridor. Headquarters in Thessaloniki, and branch offices in the biggest cities of Northern Greece as well as an extended network of associates all over Greece, ΕΝΥ is a law firm specialised in cadastral management of real estate property rights for private entities such as banks and financial institutions. ENY also provides the full spectrum of legal services concerning real estate property rights and their relative agreements in the public and private sectors as well as legal support for signing agreements under private and public law.
Honeywell SRL of Italy has been contracted for the engineering, procurement and installation of TAP’s SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) telecommunications and security systems. Honeywell SRL of Italy is part of the Honeywell group which has more than 131,000 employees worldwide. The company provides integrated SCADA systems that drive critical information to the pipelines operations team while automating data logging and processing.
Industria Meccanica Bassi Luigi e C. S.p.A. has been awarded two TAP contracts: first, for engineering, manufacturing and delivery of 48” and 36” piggable T-pieces and welded elbows of different characteristics and, second, scraper traps units for intelligent pigging. Based in Italy, Bassi is a company that delivers hot formed fittings, piping spools, manifolds, slug catchers, prefabrication, engineering for big plants.
INFODIM is responsible for the design and implementation of the geographic information infrastructure supporting TAP’s Land Easement and Acquisition (LEA) processes. INFODIM designed and developed the central geographical databases to support the LEA activities for Greece and Italy and the SLA Supporting Management System for TAP AG. Currently INFODIM is developing the PAMS User Interface (Cadastral, Census and Assets Management System). INFODIM also staffs and supports TAP’s Journey Management Control Centre. INFODIM specialises in the design, development and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and applications. INFODIM has certified quality management systems for the quality control of processes and deliverables, and uses state-of-the-art management tools to carry out the technical requirements of projects undertaken. INFODIM is certified under the EN ISO 9001:2008 and EN ISO 27001:2013 standards.
JV Bonatti & J&P Avax
The joint venture (JV) comprised of Bonatti S.p.A (Italy) and J&P AVAX S.A (Greece) has been contracted for the engineering, procurement and construction of two lots in northern Greece, covering approximately 360km of pipeline, stretching between Kavala and Ieropigi (Albanian border). Bonatti S.p.A is an integral solution provider in the oil & gas field activities with more than 70 years of experience facing challenging projects under the most critical environmental and logistical conditions in remote locations, combining advanced methods and technologies. Bonatti ranks among the largest pipeline international contractors, with a strong record of thousand km of pipes laid around the world. J&P-AVAX Group is one of the largest construction groups in Greece, also having extensive activities abroad. Listed in the main market of the Athens Exchange since 1994, J&P Avax has extensive experience in oil and natural gas pipeline construction as well as LNG stations and thermal power plants.
JV Enereco & Max Streicher
The joint venture (JV) comprised of Enereco S.p.a. and Max Streicher S.p.a. has been contracted for the construction of the onshore pipeline in Italy (8-kilometre, 36-inch diameter), which will connect the project offshore section at the landfall with the pipeline receiving terminal (PRT). Enereco is an engineering company, established in 1988. The technological skills of the company’s multidisciplinary teams cover the design of plants and infrastructures for production and transportation in the energy field. Max Streicher S.p.a. is the Italian subsidiary of Streicher Group. The team has a well-established position in the pipeline and plant construction sector in Italy, including work on major oil and gas projects with Snam Rete Gas and ENI’s Group.
JV Gener 2 – Sicilsaldo
The joint venture (JV) formed by Gener 2 Sh.p.K and Sicilsaldo S.p.A. has been contracted for the construction and rehabilitation of the first phase of access roads and bridges in Albania. Leading the JV is Gener 2 Sh.p.K, an Albanian construction and development company with almost 20 years of relevant experience. The company has executed numerous projects, including engineering and design, management, coordination, and supervision of various privately owned and government funded construction and development activities. Sicilsaldo S.p.A. is an Italian company specialised in engineering, procurement and construction services in the oil and gas as well as in the power sector. Their services range from design and construction to maintenance of plant and pipelines.
JV Renco Terna
The joint venture (JV) comprising Renco S.p.A (Italy) and Terna S.A. (Greece) has been contracted for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the project’s compressor stations in Kipoi, Greece, and Fier, Albania. Renco S.p.A., an Italian company founded in 1979, provides a wide variety of services including engineering and construction for energy, oil & gas and civil infrastructures sectors. With a total number of 6,000 employees around the world, the GEK Terna Group has made investments of more than €1.5 billion in the last five years. The current construction backlog of the group reaches €1.95 billion while the total installed capacity of the energy plants that the group owns or participates in exceeds 1,500 MW.
MTC-MAKEDONIKI has been contracted for implementing TAP’s Land Easement and Acquisition processes in Greece, securing permanent or temporary land access as well as ownership rights. MTC MAKEDONIKI also supported the disclosure of compensation policies and values in Greece with stakeholders at regional and local level. Partnering with JV Topmaps and JV MG Values, MTC MAKEDONIKI carried out a wide range of additional projects, including topographical and cadastral studies, determining compensation and replacement values as per EBRD standards, etc. Headquartered in Thessaloniki and with branch offices in several cities in Northern Greece, MTC-MAKEDONIKI TECHNICAL COMPANY is a technical studies and services company specialised in the management and implementation of multi-complex assignments.
Nuova Giungas s.r.l. is the TAP contractor for engineering, manufacturing and delivery of 48” and 36” isolating joints. Nuova Giungas was established in 1965 and, since then, it has been one of the main players in the design and production of monolithic isolation joints for the gas, oil and water market. In 2016, it became part of the Valvitalia Group.
PIRAEUS BANK SA
PIRAEUS BANK SA provides banking services for the financial transaction process implementation of the TAP Pipeline in Greece and the respective compensation payments to Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
Renco is TAP’s contract for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the Pipeline Receiving Terminal (PRT) in South Italy. Renco S.p.A., an Italian company founded in 1979, provides a wide variety of services including engineering and construction for energy, oil & gas and civil infrastructures sectors.
RMA of Germany has been contracted in July 2015 for the supply of 55 ball valves at 48” and 36”, class 600 and 900, as well as actuators. With a history of over 45 years, RMA is a leader in the production of special parts in the oil and gas sector such as ball valves and scraper traps. The company holds several international certifications including ISO 9001: 2008. RMA is a second-generation family-run company.
Saipem S.p.A. is TAP’s contract for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) of the 36-inch offshore section of the pipeline across the Adriatic Sea. Saipem is one of the world leaders in drilling services, as well as in the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of pipelines and complex projects, onshore and offshore, in the oil & gas market. The company has distinctive competences in operations in harsh environments, remote areas and deepwater, provides a full range of services with “EPC” and “EPCI” contracts and has distinctive capabilities and unique assets with a high technological content. Saipem operates from Italy in 68 countries and has approximately 40,000 employees.
In October 2015, Salzgitter Mannesmann International GmbH secured a contract for the supply of approximately 297km of the onshore 48” line pipe, as well as the bends for onshore (48”) and offshore (36”) use. In April 2016, Salzgitter Mannesmann International GmbH was also contracted for the supply of approximately 110km 36” offshore line pipes to be used in the 105km section of the project across the Adriatic Sea. Salzgitter Mannesmann International GmbH is part of the Salzgitter AG Group based in Germany, which was founded in 1859 and ranks as one of Europe’s leading steel and technology groups, a crude steel capacity of nearly 9 million tonnes and a workforce of more than 25,000 employees.
In September 2015, TAP contracted Siemens AG of Germany for the supply of six gas turbine turbo compressor units to be installed in TAP’s compressor stations near Kipoi, Greece, and Fier, Albania. One of the world's largest producers of energy-efficient, resource-saving technologies, Siemens is a leading supplier of efficient power generation and power transmission solutions and a pioneer in infrastructure solutions as well as automation, drive and software solutions for industry. At the end of September 2016, the company had around 351,000 employees worldwide.
SPIECAPAG, based in France, has been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract for a 185km lot in Greece, between Kipoi and Kavala, as well as two lots in Albania (215km in total), stretching from Bilisht to Topoje. SPIECAPAG is also carrying out the pipeline river crossing at the Greek-Turkish border, where TAP will be connecting to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP). SPIECAPAG has a history of unmatched success extending over a century. Throughout these years, the company has safely delivered the most challenging pipelines in the world with over 50,000 kilometres of pipeline and has become a major international pipeline and facilities contractor. Today, SPIECAPAG is a fully owned subsidiary of ENTREPOSE Group, a company of the VINCI French Group.
UTG, formerly ETG, prepared the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for TAP's onshore section in all host countries. In the execution phase, UTG personnel are part of the TAP Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT), to support the management of this phase of the project.
