TAP Renovates Fier School Sports Facilities

09 June 2015

Tirana, Albania. The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) helped renovate the sports facilities of the Andon Profka school in Fier, Albania. The contribution – which improves training conditions for over 270 students – is part of TAP’s community investment programme in Albania.

A small ceremony attended by local authorities, members of the local community and TAP representatives marked the opening of the refurbished sports facilities. Students performed traditional dances and songs and school officials acknowledged TAP’s involvement in enhancing training conditions.

In his speech, TAP Albania Country Manager, Shkëlqim Bozgo said: “TAP remains committed to acting as a responsible corporate citizen and we are proud to support this cause. As our project is gearing up for the starts of construction work in Albania, our partnership with communities continues to be an essential part of TAP’s local engagement.”

The rehabilitation of the Andon Profka school reinforces TAP’s pledge to strengthening training and education facilities. TAP supported the entire renovation process: evaluating the school conditions, preparing the repair plan, appointing a contractor, purchasing new sports equipment for the gym facilities, etc.

TAP continues to be an active player in Albania, particularly in the regions where the project operates. Investment projects will be planned with the participation and in close cooperation with local community representatives.
