TAP Supports the Kavala Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT) by Donating Rescue Equipment

10 October 2017

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP AG) stands by the Kavala Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT), supporting the organisation’s local branch via donation of rescue equipment.

The equipment donated to the Kavala HRT volunteers includes climbing ropes, helmets, stretchers and climbing equipment – essential in mountain rescue operations, transistors to cover the team’s telecommunications needs during operations, as well as a water pump in case of flooding.

All equipment is essential for the members of the team’s Kavala branch, in order to enable their immediate response and assistance to emergency situations and other incidents that may endanger human life.

TAP’s donation, implemented via the Social Solidarity Network, is an acknowledgment of the Kavala HRT efforts and contribution. Recent examples include their mobilisation during the frost at the beginning of 2017 –including the transport of patients suffering from kidney diseases and supplying essential goods and necessities to snowed-in villages– but also during the great fire of Thassos in September 2016.
