French Government Awards TAP the Medallion of Gratitude for Contribution to the Economy

The Medallion of Gratitude was presented to TAP Country Manager for Albania, Shkëlqim Bozgo.

The French Embassy in Tirana, on behalf of the French Government, awarded the Medallion of Gratitude to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and its contractor Spiecapag for their contribution to the French economy and industry abroad. The Medallion of Gratitude was presented to TAP Country Manager for Albania, Shkëlqim Bozgo.

The distinction was awarded on 8 December, when the French State Secretary for European Affairs, Harlem Desir, the French Ambassador to Albania, Bernard Fitoussi, and the Albanian Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry, Ilir Bejtja, visited TAP’s main marshalling yard in Durrës, Albania. The French State Secretary for European Affairs expressed the interest of the French Government in increasing economic cooperation between the two countries. He also noted that TAP and the French company Spiecapag, constructing the onshore section of the pipeline, are one of the most important French economic activities in Albania.

During the visit, participants inspected the steel pipes and machinery used for the construction of the onshore section of the pipeline in Albania. The TAP Country Manager for Albania stressed TAP’s importance for both Albania and Europe, while Spiecapag representatives presented the pipeline’s construction progress in Albania.
