TAP Donates Forestry Equipment to Oinoi Community
In the framework of the Social and Environmental Investments programme that TAP is implementing to the benefit of local communities across its route in Greece, TAP donated forestry equipment to the Oinoi community of Kastoria. The donation responded to a relevant request from the local community itself.
The donation includes two grass-bush cutters, one petrol grass-cutting machine, one garden tractor, one digging machine (digger-oil), one air blower, one chainsaw, one multi-purpose machine, as well as their accompanying accessories. The equipment was delivered to Oinoi in October 2019, in collaboration with Social Solidarity Network, which is TAP’s implementation partner for such donations.
This is not the first time that TAP supports such initiatives in the Kastoria Municipality, where a series of environmental activities are taking place in order to protect, keep clean and maintain public spaces. Indicatively, TAP has also donated equipment to the Kastoria-based association "Friends of the Environment", the Agios Georgios Naturalist and Cultural Youth Association, and the Kastoria Environmental Education Centre.
The equipment was received on behalf of the local community by Dionisis Litskas, the Deputy-Mayor of Kastoria; Evanthia Zaromytidou, the incumbent president of the Oinoi community; and Athanasios Konstantinidis, the former President. The local administration officials warmly thanked TAP for the donation that "contributes to the smooth running of the community and facilitates the efforts to maintain and promote it."
On behalf of TAP, Michalis Gkosliopoulos, Community Liaison Coordinator for Western Macedonia, noted that initiatives such as this fulfill one of the primary goals of TAP’s Social and Environmental Investments, which is to improve the quality of life of local communities.
