TAP’s donation to an environmental association in Kastoria and celebration of the World Environment Day

On this year’s World Environment Day (5 June), TAP’s Community Liaison Coordinator for Western Macedonia, Michalis Gkosliopoulos, found himself in Kastoria.

He was invited to an event celebrating the World Environment Day, organised by the association "Friends of the Environment" to inform and raise awareness among the local community.

In the course of the event, he also presented equipment donated by TAP to the association, in support of their activities. The donation regards a ride-on land mower and grass trimmer, as well as accompanying fixtures, to be used for maintaining, landscaping and keeping safe the beautiful urban forest of Kastoria.

The day was full of activities for the young students attending the event from local kindergartens and elementary schools: sports and games, arts and crafts, story-telling and nature appreciation were some of the options, while there were also short lectures on recycling and the local Fire Brigade gave a training in fire safety in the forest.

As a gesture of appreciation, TAP was also presented with a symbolic award for its donation, as were other prominent members of the community who contributed to local environmental efforts.
