The Traffic Light, the Crossing, the Seat Belt, the Helmet and Me

TAP supported the 6th Serres ECO-Festival, a three-day event organised by the Municipality of Serres. The festival, marking the World Environment Day, took place between 5-8 June in the open area of the former Papalouka military camp.

The event hosted a variety of activities, aiming to raise awareness of sustainability topics, while at the same time educating primary school students on environmental issues, through workshops and games, specifically designed for their age group. More than 1,500 children attended the festival, as it attracted schools from the Municipality of Serres as well as neighbouring municipalities.

Committed to promoting educational initiatives, especially safety-related, TAP participated in the ECO-Festival not only as a sponsor, but also with a road safety training. In a dedicated TAP kiosk, the Hellenic Institute of Transport (CERTH/HIT) presented an interactive theatre play titled “the Traffic Light, the Crossing, the Seat Belt, the Helmet and me”. Students had the opportunity to interact with the actors, in order to learn and understand the basic rules of traffic and road safety.

The ECO-Festival run under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
