TAP Awards Turbo Compressors Contract to Siemens
TAP has awarded the contract for the supply of six gas turbine turbo compressor units to Siemens AG. Half of these items will be installed in TAP’s compressor station near Kipoi, in Greece, and the remaining half at TAP’s compressor station near Fier, in Albania.
TAP Awards Contract to Corinth Pipeworks S.A. for Onshore Line Pipe
TAP has awarded a contract to Corinth Pipeworks S.A. who will provide approximately 495km of 48” diameter line pipes for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline across Greece. This contract award makes up approximately 270,000 tonnes of line pipe.
Snam S.p.A. to join TAP shareholding, acquiring 20% stake in the project from Statoil
TAP is pleased to announce that Snam S.p.A. (Snam) will shortly join TAP’s shareholding by acquiring a 20% stake in the project from Statoil. The transaction is expected to close by end 2015. Following closing, TAP’s shareholding will be comprised of BP (20%), SOCAR (20%), Snam S.p.A. (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).
TAP Starts Upgrading 8.5 km Road in Fier, Albania

TAP lays first offshore pipes in Albanian waters
TAP’s first ever offshore pipelines in Albania were successfully pulled ashore on March 30. The pipeline head reached kilometre point 0, where the offshore joins with the onshore section, at 12:50 hrs.
TAP Completes First Phase of Access Roads and Bridges Rehabilitation in Albania
At the end of 2016, TAP completed the first phase of road infrastructure rehabilitation in Albania, comprising the upgrade of approximately 58km of access roads, construction of two new bridges and refurbishment of 40 bridges. Works lasted one year and a half and were conducted by the joint venture formed by Gener 2 Sh.p.K and Sicilsaldo S.p.A.
TAP Italy Q&A re: Olive Tree Removal
To avoid any impact on the San Foca beach, TAP is building a 1.5km micro-tunnel. This state-of-the-art engineering minimises environmental impact and renders the pipeline invisible. To start building the micro-tunnel – at a site approximately 800m inland from the beach – TAP, as a first step, needs to move and store 231 olive trees, which will later be replanted at the same location.
