TAP and NGO Korpusi i Vullnetarëve Join Forces for Clean-up
TAP joined forces with a leading Albanian NGO to successfully tackle litter at five problem sites along the pipeline’s route during the summer of 2018.

The initiative with Korpusi i Vullnetarëve, a member of the Free Thought Forum, targeted problem sites identified by local authorities. These included Semani beach, the Mbrostar Bridge, Berat Historical Neighbourhood and other parts of the Osumi River valley, in Ura Vajgurore and Poliçan.
More than 1,000 volunteers of all ages took part in the clean-ups during June and July 2018, including local authority employees, TAP and NGO members. They removed more than 5,000 bags of waste, containing mostly plastic packaging, cans and textiles that had accumulated over many years.
In addition to the impressive amount of waste collected, the initiative helped raise environmental awareness among volunteers and residents of the affected areas.
