TAP Launches New Corporate Website to Mark New Phase of the Project

Baar, Switzerland. The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) launches its new corporate website. This marks the upcoming transition of the project to the operations phase, as preparations continue to start transporting natural gas from the Shah Deniz II field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Europe.

Luca Schieppati, TAP Managing Director, said: “We are excited about our new website and the diversity of information it provides for gas shippers, local communities, as well as all of our international stakeholders, who have been following our journey for many years. We believe that the new website will offer visitors an informative experience as we are progressively moving into the operational phase of the project as a transmission system operator.”

Vugar Veysalov, TAP Head of External Affairs, added: “Benefitting from a fresh lay-out, our new website is user-friendly and easy to navigate, while staying true to our brand. As TAP gets ready to transport first Caspian gas to Europe, it is important that we continue to provide trusted, accurate and reliable information to our many local, national and international stakeholders. Our stakeholder engagement has been conducted in an open, proactive and collaborative manner and we look forward to the new corporate website facilitating the same engagement for decades to come.”

The English version of the website is available at www.tap-ag.com

About the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP)

TAP will transport natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz II field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Europe. The 878 km long pipeline connects with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border in Kipoi, crosses Greece and Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy.

TAP’s routing can facilitate gas supply to several South Eastern European countries. TAP’s landfall in Italy provides multiple opportunities for further transport of Caspian gas to the wider European markets.

As a key part of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP is strategically and economically important to Europe and essential in providing reliable access to a new source of natural gas. TAP plays a significant role in boosting Europe’s energy security, supply diversification, as well as decarbonisation objectives.

TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SOCAR (20%), Snam (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).
