TAP donated three firefighting vehicles to the Serres Fire Service
Athens, Greece. In November 2023, as part of its Social and Environmental Investment (SEI) programme, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG donated three Firefighting Vehicles to the Fire Service in Serres.
TAP donated and delivered three fully equipped, modern 4X4 vehicles to the Fire Service in Serres. These vehicles support the needs of the Fire Service and aim to upgrade the quality of life of the local communities in Serres.
The delivery ceremony of the fire trucks took place on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Serres Fire Services Administration premises, in the presence of the Vice-Regional Governor of Serres, Panagiotis Spyropoulos, the Commander of the Regional Fire Department of Central Macedonia, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Dadoudis and the Deputy Commander of the Fire Department of Serres, Vice-Admiral Andreas Theodoridis.
This donation is part of ‘Destination Safety’, a €14 million SEI project, pertaining to the donation of 104 utility vehicles – including ambulances, multi-purpose vehicles and garbage trucks.
Konstantinos Dadoudis, Commander of the Regional Fire Department of Central Macedonia, Lieutenant General representing George Pournaras, Lieutenant General, Chief of the Hellenic Fire Department, said: "On behalf of the Fire Service, I would like to congratulate TAP and warmly welcome the company’s initiative. This donation not only supports our firefighting efforts but also showcases TAP’s appreciation of the Fire Service and the Civil Protection of Greece, which are facing new challenges."
Vassiliki Sotiropoulou, TAP's SEI Manager in Greece, said: "We are very happy to deliver three new 4x4 fully equipped fire trucks to the Serres Fire Service, in the context of TAP's SEI Program. For TAP, the mission of the Hellenic Fire Service is of great importance, and we are proud of the trusting relationship we have built throughout the years. The project we are delivering is part of TAP's SEI programme which was developed during the pipeline construction phase and is now in the process of being completed".
The vehicles are already in use in the areas of the Rhodolivos, Nea Zichni and Nigrita.
