Over 25,000 Students Attended TAP’s Road Safety Seminars
Greece. The Road Safety Seminars programme, an initiative sponsored by the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP AG) since May 2016, has been successfully concluded. The seminars were delivered by 36 competent instructors and were overall attended by more than 25,000 children and teenagers and 56 educators from 142 elementary schools and 60 high-schools in 66 and 31 communities, respectively.
Trans Adriatic Pipeline Launches Market Test
TAP launched a market test to allow natural gas shippers to express interest, and in a later phase, secure access to new, long-term capacity in TAP, thereby enabling the future expansion of the pipeline capacity. The market test will be conducted in two main phases: a non-binding phase, starting on 1 July 2019, followed by a binding phase, expected to start earliest in the second quarter of 2020.

ΤΑΡ AG will plant ca. 400,000 trees and shrubs, in the context of its reforestation initiative already taking place across the three Northern Greek regions crossed by the pipeline. This includes poplar (ca. 18,700 items); black, Scots and Calabrian pine (210,000, 13,400 and 56,000 items, respectively); cypress (18,000), as well as approximately 75,000 broad-leaved and 7,400 oleander shrubs.

Construction of Two-lane Bridge in Çorovoda
The main bridge in the Albanian city of Çorovoda was narrow, in poor conditions and only allowed one-way traffic. The bridge facilitates access to the main hospital in Çorovoda and other touristic sights in this part of Albania. TAP intervened and constructed a two-lane bridge which now allows safer transport, supporting the local economy and tourism.
Panoramic Platforms Over Osumi Canyon
Visiting the Osumi Canyon, one of Albania’s most beautiful landmarks, was difficult and unsafe. TAP and the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) partnered to build two modern panoramic platforms, enabling better and safer access for over 15,000 tourists every year. The total investment amounts to €132,000 and approximately 100 people were employed in the process.
